The Motor Industry Software Reliability Association (MISRA) standard was originally developed to help the automotive industry create guidelines for safer more maintainable embedded systems development. In 2019 MISRA announced that the AUTOSAR C++14 would be growing out of the MISRA standard and it has become a major standard in multiple industries.
